| Gentileza Chapa Verde Ski Center |
Situated amongst the grounds of CODELCO (Chile's mining organization),
Chapa Verde is 60 kilometers to the northeast of Rancagua and 145
km from Santiago. This center offers the best alternative in the
central zone for those who are looking for a cheaper, more relaxed
center with fewer visitors.
The maximum altitude is 3,100 meters, and the ski area covers
1,200 hectares.
Access is restricted and only vehicles and buses from the center
or individual vehicles with permission are permitted. You can obtain
permission from the offices in the Rancagua center. The 22 slopes have a southwest orientation, and range from between
1,200m and 2,500m in length. There are also four ski-lifts and a triple chair
lift, repair shop, equipment rental, a restaurant, a cafeteria, ski
school and first aid. The center also has individual cabins for
rent throughout the season.

How to get there
Santiago-Rancagua: From Rancagua, there are authorized
buses to the center. They leave daily from Avda. Miguel
Ramírez 665, Rancagua, from Monday to Friday at
09:00 hrs; Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 08:00
hrs and return at 17:00 hrs. See

Chapa Verde has approximately 1,200 hectares (2,965acres) of skiable
terrain. The base is situated at 2,370 meters (7,775ft) above sea
level. Its trails are characterized as being large with great slopes,
and with an excellent quality of snow. According to the level of difficulty of the trails, they are divided
in greens for beginners, blues
trails for intermediates, reds trails
for advanced skiers and blacks trails
for experts.

Chapa Verde ski center has a ski club, where all members enjoy
special rates on lift tickets, ski lessons and transportation.
To be a member of this club you have to pay a subscription fee of
US $833 and a monthly quota of US $23.
High Season: from July 05th to August 15th, Saturdays, Sundays
and public holidays during the season.
Low Season: Rest of the season
(from Monday to Friday).
