From the north to the south, from the sea to the mountains, you can find 439 species of birds in Chile. Of these, 296 nest and live here while the others are habitual or occasional visitors. 
Moreover, there are 11 species in Chile which are not found anywhere else on the planet. Of these, 6 live on continental Chile and 5 on the Chilean islands.
